Has Red Ed missed the point?
Don't get me wrong - the big six have contrived to charge us way too much for energy, for way too long. However, Red Ed's solution to freeze the prices for a limited period, seems to me to completely miss the point and leaves the renewable energy sector dangerously open to the erroneous Tory

Community energy fortnight - What's on?
Community energy fortnight - What's on? - 31st August, Tour of community owned hydro
electric schemes in Stockport and New Mills. A coach leaves Stockport
Town Hall at 10am to visit Stockport Hydro. From there we will go
onto Stockport Masonic Guildhall, 169-171 Wellington Road, SK1 3UA for a
lunch reception and energy saving workshops (starts 12 noon). Finally,
we''ll visit Torrs Hydro in New Mills for a tour and refreshments
(starts 3pm). The coach will leave to return to Stockport Town Hall at
5.00pm.

ACRE’s Renewable Energy Community Guide produced with the
Centre for Sustainable Energy, guide gives advice on planning
renewable energy projects.
Case studies of successful projects are also featured, including:
- A wind turbine in the village of Hockerton, Nottinghamshire, which will generate an estimated £60,000 payback for the village each year.
- A wood pellet biomass boiler at the Grade II listed St Paul’s Church in Gulworthy Cross, Devon.
- Two wind turbines that power the Wold Top Brewery and farm in East Yorkshire, creating a stable revenue stream.
